OTHER PROFESSIONAL ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE
1993 - present

I have designed and led art tours and workshops, with artist, Marguerite Fletcher, that range from a few days on the Pacific coast to two weeks in an international site. We have visited England, Italy and Greece. Participants of the international workshops are guided to create artwork from museums and archeological sites. Lectures and discussions are focused on art's history, myths, politics, social issues and urban planning of the historical cities we visit.

The Pacific Coast workshops are comprised of 2 to 3 days of both landscape and figure painting and experimental art making that involves exploring alternative methods of viewing the world.

I worked three months in East Africa photo documenting a World of Language project on the coast of Kenya. The purpose of the project was to video capture Swahili language in action through poetry, song and dance of the East African coastal culture.
